VPN stands for “Virtual Private Network”. VPNs are widely used for protection when using a device. A VPN is used to connect your device (smartphone, tablet, PC or Gaming Console) to another computer that is called a server. Servers can be anywhere in the world as long as they are connected to the internet. When using a VPN, your device is browsing the web using the server computers internet connection. For example, if you are using a computer in the United States but using a VPN from Canada and somebody gains access to your device, it will look like you are browsing from Canada. Often, companies own multiple servers in different parts of the world to scramble your computers “Fake ID”. You may consider getting a VPN for privacy, web tracking or if you are browsing confidentially. A VPN can also be used to access a private network while in a different part of the world.
